Malaphone is a second-generation Lao American daughter of refugees and proud first-generation college graduate. She is passionate about supporting the success of minoritized students and considers herself fortunate to work with incredible first-generation college students and transfer students at UCSB. Hop into her office hours or make an appointment with her on Shoreline if you want to discuss campus resources, graduate school, or if you just want to chat. As someone who considers balance and well-being an important aspect of our lives, Malaphone can also be found practicing yoga, hiking the Santa Barbara trails, cooking/baking new recipes, reading or listening to podcasts, and spending time with family and friends.
