Bio

Kristen Tran is a Vietnamese American scholar transferring from Pasadena City College as a Biological Sciences Major. She is a fourth-year student pursuing a career as a Physician Associate and hopes to work with underrepresented populations facing health inequities. At Pasadena City College, she was a part of Build Poder, as an undergraduate biomedical researcher studying the Olfactory System of Drosophila Flies and their memory retention. At UCSB, she is now working as a Peer Educator at the Transfer Student Center as well as a club member in UCSB's Physician Assistant Club and Physicians for Health Reform Club. In her free time, she enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with her family and friends and her bunnies.

Advice for Transfers: As a transfer, it is imperative that you find a community that you feel safe in and belong in. Joining a club, organization, or forming friendships in your classrooms are a great way to make meaningful connections.
